Short Bio

Sara Savic, PhD, DVM, works at Scientific Veterinary Institute “Novi Sad” in Serbia, as Senior Research Fellow and Head of the Department for Serology, Immunology and Biochemistry. She completed her PhD on Lyme disease in ticks and dogs from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia after which she has turned her interests and career towards other vector-borne and zoonotic diseases important for public health and other One Health issues. While working on diagnostics of zoonotic diseases and vector borne pathogens, she works on monitoring of these diseases in domestic animals, pets and wildlife. Currently she is focused on One Health approach and including emerging diseases of bacterial and parasitic origin into the diagnostic circle.
