Short Bio
Graduated in Biology from the University of Havana in 2014. In September 2016 she joined the National Centre for Animal and Plant Health (CENSA) until now. In this centre she has developed her basic and specialised professional training, both in Cuba and in foreign institutions, obtaining the title of Master in Veterinary Microbiology, mention in Veterinary Bacteriology in July 2020. Specifically, she develops the topic of antimicrobial resistance in bacterial isolates of animal origin. His experience includes the use of molecular biology techniques such as whole genome sequencing and bioinformatics. Currently, she continues her professional training at CENSA linked to research projects on Antimicrobial Resistance and Molecular Epidemiology of bacteria resistant to antibiotics of animal origin that may pose a threat to human health, a topic on which she is developing her PhD thesis in joint collaboration with the University of Ghent in Belgium.
