Short Bio

A dedicated and qualified Senior Lecturer with more than ten years of experience gained teaching local and international students from diverse backgrounds including students with learning needs in a Higher Education Institution. Awarded Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Science with extensive experience in supervising research projects for undergraduate and postgraduate students including Bachelor degree, Masters degree and Doctor of Philosophy. Highly-skilled in analysing and exploring research areas in quorum sensing, gene expression, 16S rRNA, DNA sequencing, bioassay guided isolation of anti-biofilm agents from natural sources, and molecular approaches to microbial community analysis. Familiarised with whole genome sequencing, LCMS metabolomics, amplicon sequencing, confocal microscopy, polymerase chain reaction-based methodologies, phylogenetic analysis of revolutionary relationship among microorganisms and polyphasic approach of bacterial taxonomy. Excellent in software skills including BioEdit, MEGA4, Graphpad, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and the Microsoft Packs. Well-developed leadership skills, with the ability to motivate in a pressurised environment. Skilled in co-ordinating conferences, projects and high level meetings, including familiarity with correct protocols for dealing with VIPs.
