Short Bio

Dr. Maria Albin is a distinguished public health professional with over 16 years of extensive experience in public health, environmental health, and One Health. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor in the Center for One Health at the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE). She is the course director for Climate Change and Health, which is also her research priority area. Dr Albin has dedicated her career to advancing health outcomes on a global scale especially in issues that can be addressed through One Health approach including the link between Water Sanitation and Hygiene and NTDs, climate change and food security among others. In summary, her career is a combination of experience of working with governments, international organizations and tertiary training institutions in Botswana, South Africa, and Rwanda. Dr. Albin is a strong multi disciplinary expert with her training and research integrating environmental solutions into public health interventions and policies to achieve sustainable health outcomes. Apart from capacity building she has participated in mentoring and nurturing the next generation of health professionals in resource limited settings. Her work continues to inspire new generations of health professionals around the world.
