Short Bio
Dr. Lilian W. Waiboci PhD, is a Senior Lecturer at Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Science and Technology, at the University of Nairobi in Kenya. She teaches Biochemistry and Molecular Immunology to Pre-medical, undergraduate, and postgraduate students. She conducts research on emerging and re-emerging pathogens with particular interest on respiratory viruses. She has sixteen years’ experience in enhancing laboratory systems and diagnostics as well as in surveillance and response to zoonotic pathogens of national and global health concern. She is currently engaged in providing technical support for the establishment of genomic surveillance at the Kenya National Influenza Center with support from US CDC and on implementing One Health solutions with support from Capacitating One Health Eastern and Southern Africa (COHESA) program. Dr. Waiboci leads the WfOH secretariat at the Center for Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, University of Nairobi, Kenya.
