Short Bio

I first became involved with the One Health approach in 2018 through the non-profit sector in Spain and Uganda, where I worked to improve animal health outcomes by reducing the impact of environmental factors and vector-borne diseases. Later, I moved to the USA, where I received my Ph.D. in Epidemiology from the University of South Carolina, looking at the human-animal-vector interface of spotted fever group (SFG) rickettsioses. I have worked on Chagas Disease in Latin America and have a great interest in the pathogen transmission in nature, and how the environment shifts affect disease patterns. I am currently an Assistant Professor of One Health at Clemson University.
