Short Bio
Johanne Saint-Charles is a full professor in the Faculty of Communication at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). Her research focuses on social and gender inequities in health and the environment. Notably considering how they are constructed and maintained through discourse and relationships.
For more than 20 years, she has adopted ecosystem approaches to health (Ecohealth, One Health and Global Health) and made significant contributions to ecohealth collaborations (Latin America, Canada, West and Central Africa), either as co-founder, co-director or active participant. She is currently co-director of the Canadian Community of Practice in Ecosystem approach to Health and co-lead of the EDI working group of the Canadian One Health Training Program on Emerging Zoonoses.
