Dr. Jessica Schwind is an epidemiologist and director of the Institute for Health Logistics & Analytics at Georgia Southern University. Her research centers on disease surveillance, public health capacity building, and risk communication for health threat prevention and response. As institute director, she leads projects using evidence-based practices and technology integration to optimize community health. Through partnerships with local, state, and national organizations, the IHLA provides essential services on topics ranging from zoonotic disease prevention to opioid harm reduction. Dr. Schwind holds degrees from Georgia Tech (BS), New York Medical College (MPH), and UC Davis (PhD in Infectious Disease Epidemiology).
