Short Bio
I am a veterinarian (2002), with a specialization in Social Veterinary Medicine from the Federal University of Paraná (2023). Additionally, I have a Post-Doctorate from the Department of Zoology at the University of Brasília (2016), and a Doctorate (2014) and Master's degree (2005) in Ecology and Conservation of Natural Resources from the Federal University of Uberlândia.
Currently at AECOM of Brazil, with the fauna and environment team, performing independent technical audits focused in domestic and wild animals impacted by mining activities. The work of the welfare animal audit involves assessing the risk management of the people-animals-environment interface, including one health, shelter veterinary medicine, animal behavior and welfare, forensic veterinary medicine, integrated disaster risk management, among others.
In my 20-year consulting career, I have monitored birdlife for hydroelectric projects and worked on environmental health diagnostics, aligning knowledge of applied ecology and public health, proposing collaborative and transdisciplinary strategies for the balanced and sustainable management of natural and urban ecosystems.
I am a researcher in the areas of Ornithology, Ecoepidemiology, Conservation Medicine and One Health, collaborating with several scientific institutions.
