Short Bio
My name is Emily Schwitzer. I was an Evolutionary Anthropology major at Duke University with a predominant focus on comparative physiology as it relates to lemurs. After medical school, I started working in Barb Natterson-Horowitz Medical Phylogenetics Lab of which I continue in today. Since completing my Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship, I have focused on One Health pulmonary issues and evolved adaptations to the respiratory system in a variety of species. I am currently Faculty at UCLA Medical Center and hope to integrate One Health models into our medical education.
