Short Bio
Dr. Christine C. Jost is a senior One Health expert with over 28 years of experience leading global health security, outbreak response, humanitarian assistance, and resilience programs across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. She has managed multi-million-dollar initiatives and forged partnerships with governments, multilateral organizations, academia, research institutions, and donors to advance evidence-based policy and sustainable development. Her expertise spans emerging and transboundary diseases, animal health systems, antimicrobial stewardship, field epidemiology, climate change, gender, and livelihoods, and she is recognized for translating science into practical policy and systems change that embeds resilience, equity, and sustainability into health and food systems. A skilled facilitator, trainer, and mentor, Dr. Jost has served with USAID, Tufts University, the International Livestock Research Institute, and the CGIAR’s Climate Change, Agriculture, and Food Security Program, collaborating with partners including the FAO, WOAH, WHO, and the World Bank. She holds a DVM from Tufts University, an MA from The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and a BA from Grinnell College, and continues to practice veterinary medicine in Maryland and Virginia.
