Short Bio
Belinda Omino is a researcher and science communicator with a background in Microbiology and Biotechnology. She has a strong interest in One Health approaches that combat Infectious Diseases and climate sensitive diseases. Her research work has focused on transboundary animal diseases such as Rift Valley Fever (RVF) and Peste des Petits Ruminants (PPR), where she has contributed to vaccine development and disease surveillance. She has been involved in initiatives that promote STEM education among school children. Through her community outreach work, she empowers women and youth, especially in pastoral regions, with practical skills to improve food security and nutrition. Through her work, she seeks to bridge the gap between scientific research, policy and community health , with a vision to strengthen local and global responses to emerging health threats.
